Kaniarian Peninsula, 1836
Long had the coastal plains of Saraf been coveted by the so called Peninsular Kingdom. Since the 1700's, the Kingdom of Saraf eked out a living as a poor and destitute monarchy ruled by the Hand of the Creator, King Emmanuelle IV. He was distantly related to King Tariathus Seguthar II of Kaniarus, whose grandmother had once been wed to Emmanuelle's father and wed a child. The child, Rufus, never made it to his teenage years and it was the son of Emmanuelle wed to a Sarafian women named Esmerelda that produced Emmanuelle, severing the Saraf-Kaniarian connection forever. It would appear however that King Tariathus wasn't so keen on letting dogs lie. For on February 2nd, 1836 he announced a war, supported by the Small Council of Kanarius that would see the annexation of Saraf once and for all.
First however, the War Council and King Tariathus would need to select a general for his army. He was met with three possibles. -- General Alonso of Liubeth: A careerist, who has served the Kaniarian Army for over 23 years, he is a sturdy and dependable man who has never turned down a station or command. Though nearing his 70th birthday, he is a proven soldier.
-- General Joan of Liubeth: A budding new officer and the youngest general in the army, he has earned himself as the Ace of Kaniarius for his radical tactics and offensive ideas. At only thirty-one, he is hopeful to help Kaniarius make a difference, both on and off the battlefield.
-- General Mortimer de la Alinquin: A former cavalryman turned officer, Alinquin is a student of the Liubeth Academy and at 51 years old is neither too old to command nor too young to be idealistic. He is however fond of both women and drink, which has caused some consternation among fellow officers.
Belligerents -- Kingdom of Kaniarus * 67,000 Regulars [? ? ?] * 6 Ships of the Line, 24 Frigates
-- Kingdom of Saraf * 44,000 Regulars [General Kaddiq] * 2 Ships of the Line, 8 Frigates

Kaniarian Peninsula, 1836 -War Council of The King Tariathus Seguthar II
Just after sending the declaration of war to the Kingdom of Saraf , the king assembled his war council that was mostly composed of his most trusted advisors and few officers from the Kaniarian army , by the time the council meeting began the king had already decided what general from the army was going to lead the soldiers from the kingdom to the field , his choosen general was the Joan of Liubeth a person that he had met a few years ago when he himself was trained in the Sektian Military Academy of Liubeth by his own initiative to learn about the ways of war ,Tariathus had shown a good perfomance at learning but it was Joan that was the best in his class and some say the best in the academy most of the times finding ways to defeat enemies that he could not even think about , Joan came from a the minor noble family of Gharthet from Liubeth , one of the few minor noble family's that was still present in Kaniarus , Joan enrolled by command of his father , the head of Gharthet family , in order to raise the social position of the family as a whole , Tariathus was a friend of Joan in the academy and so he remains now , he has total confidence of him and that his tactics and strategies will help now and in the future to the kingdom , however he also knew that Joan had recently met new ideas of the so called "Liberalism" and while he was not worried about his loyalty he saw that as strange as most people did in the monarchy.
Tariathus in the council announced who was going to lead the Liubeth Army and the 1st Liubeth Fleet to battle and the following that happened was that the council started to discuss about where to attack how many troops would be at the vanguard and how many at reserve , what kind of tactics would be used but it all ended soon with the conclusion to go directly to the capital and take it siege or force if neccesary the navy would first search to engage the enemy navy and then blockade their capital , the council continue over several hours covering small details and by that time the king was no longer needed and he could enjoy a good night of sleep until the drums of war would call him again to duty.

Liubeth Army Composition:
-50,000 Regulars as the mainforce -10,000 Regulars as reserves

Kingdom of Saraf
"The day has come, then," King Emmanuelle IV said, soberly. The messenger who delivered the message was stone faced. The threat of Karianus had been generations in coming. Since time immemorial, the Karianians had called Saraf lands theirs. "Fetch my war council. I would speak with them at once!" The messenger fled from the room, eager to escape the presence of the king for any unwanted reprisal. Emmanuelle wasn't that type of man. He was cool, not quite collected but understanding of the situation nonetheless. Within the hour Saraf's war council had been called together, the Minister of the Army, Minister of the Navy and Saraf's top generals: Kaddiq and Sadir.
"They greatly outnumber us, my liege." Minister of the Navy Daffadir said, near the head of the table. "Though, the Sarafian Navy is not all useless." When the King and the others looked on questioningly, Daffadir pointed to a small spec off the coast of Faresia. "The Kaniarian colony of Raexis. It holds no small garrison. It may yet be a bargaining chip in the palm of our hand when the Karianian Army marches on Saraf."
"It is done then. Dispatch the Sarafian Fleet and take 4,000 of your finest men. If we control the colony, we may bargain some small token of power if we lose in the open field." Satisfied, Minister Daffadir sat back and calmly crossed his arms.
"And the army?"
"They march directly upon us," Minister of the Army Hammid stated, dragging his finger from Liubeth to Saraf. "Their army is not significantly larger than ours, my lord. They fight with the same flintlock's we do. There stands a chance, if fate might smile upon us."
King Emmanuelle looked at General Kaddiq, who shrugged. "If fate smiles upon us, indeed. In favorable terrain, any army can be beaten. Saraf however, is naught but flatlands."
"It must be done, General. March, and beat them."
-- The Safarian 3rd Fleet (2 Ships of the Line, 7 Frigates) with 4,000 Regulars in transports, set sail for Raexis -- The Safarian 2nd Army (40,000 Regulars) marches south to meet the enemy in battle.

MODERATION MARK
January-February 1836
SARAF-KANIARIAN BORDER The Kaniarian Army marched north with General Joan of Liubeth at it's head on February 14th. The modest army was 60,000 strong with 10,000 of those men as a reserve. The passageway into Saraf was open plains, with scarcely unpaved roads sometimes available for the army to march. After twelve days, they crossed the Sarafian border, with scouts hastily reporting that the Sarafian Army was marching against them near the town of Hadir. The Battle of Hadir would be General Joan's first taste of combat.
FARESIA The Safarian 3rd Fleet in it's entirety, swept across Raexis with not a Kaniarian gun to oppose them. The ships bombarded the coast for two days until they realized there was no colonial garrison. Within three days the 4,000 Sarafians were ashore and took the colony for themselves. As per the instruction of the colonel in command, they begin instructing meager fortifications. Without any garrison, the Kaniarians would not be aware of the loss of their colony until March.
-- Battle of Hadir begins.

Kaniarian Peninsula, 1836 -May -War Council of The King Tariathus Seguthar II
The results from the battle of Hakadir arrived at the hands of Tariathus the day the battle was over , the results of it were not as expected and were hardly satisfactory , but atleast the battle was won and a path to the capital of the Saraf Kingdom was now open , also reports from the colony of Raexis arrived with the bad news , the Saraf kingdom had took possesion of the colony , this was a blow to the pride of the king as he had forgot about the colony and he could not afford to loss no ground to his enemies , he now had to plan to retake the colony and to prepare to take over Saraf as fast as possible , the navy was now ordered to blockade Saraf and to scout the Sarafian Sea spliting the navy in two to achieve both objectives.
The army that had been reduced was still with their numbers advantage and it was ready to start marching towards the capital of Saraf , reports from the enemy troops surrendering and the desertors from the enemy reassured the king about the secure victory but he wondered how much it would cost me to achieve his objectives now and in the future , after the War Council was ended the king Tariathus walked around the "The Palace of The Four Towers", thinking about the war.

Kingdom of Saraf
"Send the emissary, and pray he is not crushed underfoot."
King Emmanuelle IV knew victory was too far gone now, but it would not come easily to Kaniarius. To this effect, he dispatched a white clothed rider to the marching Kaniarian Army to send for the leader's general to be received in the capital for negotiations of defeat. With a marginally smaller army, and less political capital--Saraf had no allies--she could not hope to continue the war effort. Instead, King Emmanuelle IV would wait patiently for the arrival of the Kaniarian general to discuss the terms of defeat.
He ordered the small royal garrison to stand by. Not for subterfuge or deception, but in the case of the Kaniarian general going awry, they would take care to ensure the safety of their liege at all costs. The political wilderness had changed, and it was important, if for nothing else, to maintain a sense of dignity even in defeat.

Kingdom of Saraf
After some deliberate consideration of the enemy demands, King Emmanuelle IV reluctantly agreed. The Treaty of Hadir (1836) would be a simple treaty.
Though shameful it was, the complex annexation of Saraf was not the end of Saraf. Instead, King Emmanuelle IV fled within hours of signing the treaty to the Greater Kingdom of Tiberia to the north. While not allied and unrelated, King Harold II of Tiberia allowed Emmanuelle IV sanctum. "For I have not abdicated my throne, a Karianian may sit on it, it will always belong to a Safarian," he wrote in a letter from the Tiberia capital of Gedtz. The war had ended in a sobering nine works, which led to the name of the war as the Nine Weeks War.
